Norfolk and Suffolk Community Dental Services Free Oral Health Parent Sessions Our free Parent Sessions are ideal for parents of children aged 0-5 years old. We can give advice on when to start brushing, how to encourage brushing and brushing independently, preventative measures to help reduce the risks of tooth decay, advice on registering with a dentist, and tips on what foods and drinks are more tooth-friendly, and which contain hidden sugars. Year 1 have had an exciting final week before half term 🙂 The children published their letters all about The Journey Home, focusing on the animals in the story. They were so proud to send their finished pieces off to Keir Starmer and Jimmy’s Farm. In RWV, the class explored Jewish festivals, learning about traditions, celebrations and why these moments are so important to Jewish families. In science, a definite highlight was our special visit from the owls. The children were fascinated as they learned about the features of a bird up close. This week in Reception we have enjoyed the story 'Man on the Moon', the children learnt about the moon and tested gravity in fun experiments! We then learnt about the moon cycles and how people celebrate Lunar New Year around the world. The children learnt the story of the Great Race.

Wow! What an incredible half term we have had in Year 5! We are truly blown away by their dedication, curiosity, positive and resilient approach to their learning. In Literacy, we have continued with our text, Beowulf, linked to our History topic next half term. In Maths, we have consolidated long multiplication. In Reading, we concluded our text, Seven Ghosts. The children were well and truly shocked by the ending! In Science, we have been investigating which materials are soluble and insoluble. In Geography, we analysed how global organisations can work together to support the Amazon. In RWV, we discussed different Sikh festivals. In Art, we have worked incredibly hard this week to create our self-portraits inspired by the work of Chris Ofilli and the fauvist movement. These are truly incredible - we can't wait to proudly display these in our key stage area! Well done! Have a lovely half term everyone and a well-deserved break! See you soon!

What a way to end the half term Year 4! In Science we have investigated how the position of a light source changes the shape and size of a shadow! In Literacy we finished writing our letters to the Earth and then shared these with each other, to show the different causes of climate change! In RWV we discussed how our views could be similar to those of a humanist and shared how we can be kind, respectful and responsible this week. A brilliant week Year 3! In Literacy we have published our narratives, in Reading we have continued reading The Nothing To See Here Hotel and in Maths we have been looking at fractions. In Science we looked at changing shadow sizes, in Art we evaluated our final pieces, in Computing we programmed changes in characters and backgrounds and sound, in Geography we drew a bar chart based on who in the class wants to live near a volcano. We also had a fabulous time in our bushcraft session, roasting marshmallows and toasting bread on the fire! Enjoy your half term! Mr Wright and Miss Bow

This week in Year 6 has been jam‑packed with creativity, curiosity and a little bit of fire! In Literacy, we became epic storytellers as we published our gripping battle narratives of the mighty clash between Grendel and Beowulf. Maths had us improving our percentage skills and tackling SATs‑style questions. In Science, we channelled Charles Darwin himself, investigating how different beaks affect natural selection using our very own “finch‑style” challenges. Our artistic side shone through as we evaluated our Giacometti‑inspired sculptures. In History we explored whether the Saxons were peaceful settlers or vicious invaders! PE saw us rolling, balancing and sequencing in gymnastics with groups, formations and apparatus. In PSHE, we thought about how to live in a more environmentally sustainable way. In Woodlands we finished the week with excitement (and safety first!) as we learned about fire‑making and even cooked over a firepit. What a brilliant week! Have a lovely half-term!

🌿 Year 2 Adventure at Carlton Marshes Year 2 had a fantastic day exploring Carlton Marshes! The children threw themselves into pond dipping, discovering all sorts of fascinating water creatures. They loved getting up close to nature on a guided walk, spotting birds, plants and signs of wildlife around the reserve. The highlight for many was bug hunting, where they searched high and low for minibeasts hiding in the grass and under logs. Their curiosity, teamwork and enthusiasm made the whole day a joy. A huge well done to all the children for representing the school so brilliantly — and thank you to the adults who supported the trip. What a brilliant outdoor learning experience for everyone 🌼

🌟 Attendance 🌟 It could have been a quiet squash and biscuits this week as landing on a high number on our Spin to Win board meant there were only two winners BUT these two were real chatterboxes and we had a lovely time sharing stories of our weekend and talking about all the exciting things happening in school this week! 💜

This week in Reception we read the story 'Smeds and Smoos', we talked about how the aliens felt and retold the story. The children designed their own aliens and thought of an imaginary planet they could live on. The children also enjoyed exploring different colours to mix together. In Phonics this week we recapped our sounds taught this term and in Maths the children explored odd and even numbers, we enjoyed singing 'The animals come in 2 by 2'.

In Science we looked at how opaque objects cast shadows, in Art we created our final pieces, in Computing we programmed changes in characters and backgrounds, in PSHE we looked at money for wants and needs as well as why different jobs are paid differently, in Geography we learnt about the dangers of living near a volcano and in RWV we looked at Zakat and Ramadan. We also enjoyed another fabulous ukulele session. A massive congratulations to our Y3 girls football team who took part in the football tournament this week. WOW! We had a fun week in Year 4, this week! In Art we created our 3D abstract sculptures, inspired by the work of Henry Moore. In Woodlands, this week we build our fire in the woodlands and made our own toast and marshmallows, which were so tasty! In Science we have been exploring how shadows are created! 💜💫Weekly Round Up - Year 5! 💫💜 In Literacy, we published our non-chronological reports and have immersed in our new text, Beowulf. In Maths, we have continued to use the column method to multiply 3- and 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. In Reading, we have finished our book, Seven Ghosts. The children have been so immersed in this text and have made incredible links between the stories and inferences surrounding the character's thoughts, feelings and motives. In Science, we conducted our investigations to decide which material is the best thermal insulator. In Geography, we analysed how humans use The Amazon. In Art, we began to sketch our self-portraits inspired by the work of Chris Ofili and the Fauvist movement. In Woodlands, we discussed and created a mock firepit, carefully considering the materials, structure and safety in preparation for our bushcraft session on Monday. Have a lovely weekend everyone! Year 6 have had a brilliant and busy week! In Literacy, we launched our new unit on Beowulf, writing vivid setting and character descriptions and using drama to bring the battle scene to life and inspire powerful language. In Maths, we worked hard to secure our understanding of percentages, showing growing confidence and resilience when tackling problems. Our Art lessons were wonderfully creative (and a little messy!) as we used Mod Roc to build up volume and texture on wooden armatures to begin creating our own 3D models. In Computing, we became coders, using micro:bits to apply conditional statements and compare variables to values. In History, we explored the significance of Alfred the Great, learning why he remains such an important figure. In Science, we investigated how animals and plants survive by recognising the amazing adaptations they have developed. A fantastic week of learning, teamwork and enthusiasm - well done, Year 6!

🌲🔥 What an incredible week of learning for Year 1 and Year 2! 🔥🌲 Our absolute highlight was our final woodland bushcraft adventure. The children threw themselves into every moment — from exploring the outdoors to mastering new skills with huge smiles and even bigger enthusiasm. The grand finale? Toasting marshmallows over a real campfire and having a go at lighting a fire themselves (with careful supervision, of course!). The pride on their faces as the sparks caught was priceless. We’re so proud of their curiosity, teamwork, and bravery this week. What a magical way to round off our bushcraft sessions! 🌟

Our Year 6 Play Leaders are proud to show off their new custom hoodies! They took the Play Leaders Oath (written by them) in assembly today and have already been wearing their hoodies on the playground, helping the children at breaktime and lunch.
