Who are we?

I have been involved in primary education for more than 40 years, spending the last 16 years of my career as Headteacher. I am on the board of trustees of two academy sponsors, both as a volunteer. I am committed to supporting and challenging schools in order to provide the best for all learners. I am proud to be associated with Grove Primary.

Rae Aldous

I have been Headteacher at Westwood Primary School since September 2012 and Executive Headteacher at Westwood Primary and Grove Primary since February 2018. Working in partnership with The Active Learning Trust, through careful recruitment of outstanding staff and targeted school improvement Westwood Primary School was successfully lead out of Special Measures. Again in February 2019, Grove Primary school was successfully lead out of Serious Weaknesses. Both schools have been transformed resulting in a learning communities which are both happy and harmonious and where strong leadership ensures positive outcomes for all children and their families.

Dan Blowers

I have been involved with Westwood Primary since my son started in Reception in 2016 (my daughter joined nursery in 2018) and have seen first hand the kind and nurturing environment that the school promotes. I currently work within local government and will use my skills and knowledge to ensure the schools already high standards are maintained.
Sarah Gough

My four sons have all attended the school since 2005 and my youngest son is currently in Year 1.

I work full time as a childminder and care for a lot of children who attend the school and the nursery so have a good relationship with staff already and have a vested interest in supporting the school to progress further. I have a huge amount of experience in Early Years and childhood development, and I would like to be able to use some of this knowledge to support the school in their visions for our children as they progress through primary school.. I strongly believe in positive relationship between the school and parents/carers.
