Learning in Lower Key Stage 2 is delivered through a mix of creative, enquiring, cross-curricular curriculum links and discrete teaching of specific subjects all of which is underpinned by the national curriculum. We believe that our children learn best when inspired, immersed and intrinsically motivated. Skilful adults enable this to happen through a well-planned, captivating environment and curriculum that is carefully mapped across all areas of the Year 3 and Year 4. The children benefit from whole class teaching, adult directed activities and self-initiated learning.
In Lower Key Stage Two, Literacy and Maths skills are taught discretely.
Topics are carefully chosen planned to ensure that we provide a variety of experiences for pupils to acquire, develop and apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding from across the curriculum.
Topic Curriculum includes History, Geography and Science. These are the main topic areas covered. However, there will; also be links to all other subject areas within the Topics as they fit with the direction the topic follows.
